Find a Sperm Donor
For women and couples who need sperm: meet men who want to help or to be a dad, talk it through, and decide together. Free to download.
Looking for a man to help you have a baby, or to be a dad? On Just a Baby you meet him yourself. You talk, you get to know each other, and you decide together what happens next. Nobody decides it for you. Just a Baby isn’t a sperm bank. It’s an app where women and couples meet men who want to help or be a dad, and work out together what part he plays. The app’s free to download for iPhone and Android. Want someone close by? See who’s out there near you, by country, state and city.
A person, not a profile number
You could pick from a list. Plenty of people do. But a list gives you a few facts, then it stops. Here you meet the man himself. Ask him why he’s here. Ask what he hopes for. Ask what part he’d like in your child’s life, if any. Kids often want to know where they come from. The man you choose may be someone your child wants to know one day. Find someone they’ll be proud to know.
The men here aren’t all after the same thing. Some want to help and then step back. Some want to be a dad, a little or a lot. Some are open to a relationship, if it ever turns into one. None of that is decided for you. You work it out between you, one honest conversation at a time.
That goes for what you call him, too. Sperm donor is the term people search for, so it’s on this page. It’s not always the word families end up using. Some say known donor, or dad, or just his name. Some come up with something of their own. We’re not the ones to name him, and you don’t have to either, not yet. The story of how your family began starts here, with the people you meet and the one you click with. The words tend to follow.
Here’s how it works, whoever you are.
If you are single
You want a baby, and you want to do this your way. Start with a profile that says who you are and what you hope for. That might be a man who helps and steps back. It might be a man who wants to co-parent. It might be someone you could build a life with, if it turns out that way. Be as open as you like.
Then set your location and distance, and see who’s out there. When someone catches your eye, swipe right. If he swipes right too, you’ve matched, and you can talk. Chat opens once you’ve both said yes, not before. Chatting is free.
Take your time. Ask the questions that matter to you. What does he want? How involved does he hope to be? What would he tell your child about how they came to be? You never have to settle for a name on a list. You get to meet a person. And you get to say no.
If you are a female couple
Two moms, plenty of love, and one missing ingredient. On Just a Baby you can look for that ingredient together. Say who you are as a couple, and what you’re hoping to find.
Some couples want a man who helps and then steps back, so the two of you are the parents. Some want a dad in their child’s life, with a role you all agree on. Some aren’t sure yet, and that’s fine. Talking to a few men is often how you find out what feels right.
From there it works as it does for anyone. Look around, match, and get talking. Ask him what he imagines. Tell him what you imagine. Then the three of you decide what everyone’s part will be.
If you are a male couple
Two dads-to-be need a woman’s help, and that’s a bigger ask than sperm. It starts the same way, though: by meeting people. Women join Just a Baby for all sorts of reasons. Some hope to co-parent. Some want to help a family happen and then step back. Plenty aren’t sure until they meet the right people. That’s how it tends to go here. What you set out looking for and what you end up building are often two different things, because of who you met along the way. So start meeting people, see what ideas come up between you, and let the plan take shape from there.
The app works the same way for you. Say what you hope for, look around, and say hi to whoever catches your eye. Talk when you match. Be honest about what you’re looking for, and listen to what she is. If carrying or eggs are the part you need most, read before surrogacy, meet someone and before egg donation, meet someone. Both say the same thing: the person comes first, the professionals come after.
If you are a couple
Plenty of men and women who are together still need help to start a family. When sperm is the missing piece, you can look for a man who’ll help. And you can talk openly with him about what that means for all three of you.
Say who you are as a couple, what you want, and what you’re comfortable with. Then do what everyone does here. Look around, match, and start the conversation together. Some couples want a helper who steps back completely. Others would like a man who stays in their child’s life in some small way. There’s no single right answer, only the one you all agree on.
If you have eggs to share, or need them
Eggs start the same way: with two people meeting. Nobody here is an egg donor on a page. She’s a person with her own reasons, and you get to know those first. Say who you are and what you hope for, look around, and talk. Some women who help this way want to step back afterwards. Some want to stay in touch. Ask, and listen. Our page on meeting someone before egg donation goes further.
What Just a Baby is not
Just a Baby isn’t a sperm bank, and it isn’t a clinic. Nobody here is a product. Nobody is listed, priced or sold. There’s no catalog to order from. People meet people. We introduce you. Everything after that is decided by the people involved, with a lawyer and a doctor to guide the parts we can’t.
Whatever you agree, agree it clearly. What someone plans, what they’re open to, and where their boundaries sit are three different things. That goes for you, and for every person you meet. Read more about consent and boundaries when you meet someone.
Anyone having a baby with anyone should talk to a lawyer and a doctor. Just a Baby introduces you. The rest is yours.
