Our Founder

I’m Paul Ryan, and I started Just a Baby. I’m Australian, and I’m based in Western Australia.

Why I started it

In twenty sixteen I set out to break the mold on how families are created and how children are conceived. I’d heard so many heartfelt stories from men and women who needed sperm, eggs or a woman to carry a child for them. I decided it was time to break the old cycle and create the Just a Baby app.

The app’s purpose is simple. It helps you find other people to have a baby with. Then you start talking it through. Now anyone can start the journey to a family in their own way.

What I believe

Men and women want to have babies. The loss of ritual and tradition has ripped us apart. I want Just a Baby to help bring us back together.

To bring a baby into the world you need sperm, eggs, a womb and love. We know now that kids often want to know both their parents. So my advice is to find a dad. Find a guy your kid will be proud to have as their father, one way or another. I embrace all sorts of arrangements, and so does the app.

I also believe in serendipity. You tend to find what you’re not looking for. Someone who joins looking for a person to have a baby with may find more than that. I’m glad when it happens.
